Wikipedia citation: "Jeanne Bucher, born in Guebwiller , is the sister of Pierre Bucher . She arrived in Paris in 1920 where she attended Edmond Bernheim , Jean Lurcat , Jean Dalsace , Dollie and Pierre Chareau.
She opened her first gallery-bookstore in 1925, in an annex of the Pierre Chareau exhibition shop where she met the writer-publisher Georges Hugnet . His first clashes are dedicated to cubism and especially to Jacques Lipchitz's sculptures . When financial difficulties forced her to sell her art gallery , she participated in exhibitions organized by Marie Cuttoli, rue Vignon.
In 1936, Jeanne Bucher reopened a gallery at 9 boulevard du Montparnasse , still very much surrounded by the friendship of Jean Lurçat and Georges Hugnet, which she exhibited in addition to Pablo Picasso , Joan Miro , Kandinsky , Henri Laurens , Georges Gimel , Jacques Lipchitz , Max Ernst , Andre Masson , Jean-Michel Coulon , Nicolas Eekman , Lotiron Robert , Jean-Francis Laglenne , Jean Signovert . She also publishes art books , such as A Week of Kindnessof Max Ernst in 1934 1 .
During the Second World War , she helped photographer Rogi André , André Kertész 's first wife , who had been forced to flee in a free zone and to take refuge in Touraine because of her Jewish origins, to hide in Paris.
In 2004, the gallery was taken over by Véronique Jaeger and renamed "Galerie Jeanne Bucher Jaeger" in 2015 2 . A new exhibition space opens in the Marais district ." https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeanne_Bucher
